The Aragonese Castle of Ortona, was built in 1452 by King Alfonso of Aragona over the remains of an ancient fortress. Its solid walls and four side towers stood firm over the centuries, beating back the Venetian marauders before becoming a prison and then a national monument. It looms still on the Ortona cliff that plunges steeply down into the Adriatic sea. It is a symbol of force, majesty and enduring presence through time.
The name given to the “d'Aragona” range of wines was inspired by a special reason. All our wines actually tend to reflect the strengths and qualities of a bloodline (that of the Aragona family) that bound its personal history to that of the region of Abruzzo. Decisive and pure, sincere and elegant, with a strong character tinged, however, with delicacy: these are the d'Aragona wines. You will be pleasantly surprised when you encounter them. Their scents and perfumes are the gateway to a story that only a poet could narrate.
